Trimming around sand traps, water features, tee boxes and greens edges is a delicate job. For precise control in these areas, there’s nothing like Toro’s exclusive Sidewinder® cutting system.
Available on the Toro® Reelmaster® 3100-D fairway mower and Groundsmaster® 3500-D rotary mower, the Sidewinder system allows you to move all three cutting units 12 inches (30 cm) right or left from their center position — on the fly — for a full 24 inches (61 cm) of travel.
What You Can Do With the Sidewinder Cutting System:
Perform expert edging. Trim neatly and closely around sensitive areas while keeping the mower’s wheels a safe distance away. This is especially handy around bunkers where you want a close cut but want to keep the tires back from the edges.
Vary wheel position. Sidewinder lets you shift the wheel position from cut to cut on delicate turf. By repositioning the cutting units, you can also vary the tire tracking to prevent rutting and compaction in areas that are mowed with the same pattern.
Reach turf other mowers can’t. The operator can shift Sidewinder cutting units up to 12 inches (30 cm) each direction for access under trees and hard-to-reach places.
Gain added versatility. The Groundsmaster 3500-D with Sidewinder combines the precision trimming of a reel mower with the easy maintenance of a rotary mower, so areas that typically require two different machines can be maintained with one efficient mower.
