Golf-Specific Content
While The Toro Company has been using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other Social Media tools to share information across multiple business areas for years, the company now believes that the time is right for delivering more targeted communications directly to interested customers via their new @ToroGolf handle.
Todays customers want to get quick, meaningful and relevant information on their own schedule and often on their mobile devices and Twitter is a great tool for that,
says Bob VandenBoom, senior marketing manager at The Toro Company. Customers see Twitter, in particular, as a great opportunity to connect more directly with Toro on their own terms, but they also view their social connections via Twitter as an opportunity to share their experiences and expertise with others, including Toro, to potentially benefit other courses.
In addition to improved communications, Toro has always placed a high value on understanding customer needs. From Toros perspective, the Voice of the Customer (VOC) has provided a strong foundation for innovation in this business for the past century and social media is simply taking the voice of the customer to new levels going forward. The tools may be different, but the opportunity to listen, learn, innovate and share is already part-and-parcel of the company culture. Doing it well is how we help our customers succeed and ultimately how we earn the privilege to continue to serve both new and loyal customers.
