Toro introduced the world to the latest innovations for golf course care and maintenance while presenting a unified brand in a revamped booth space at the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show in Orlando, Florida, Feb. 6 \u2013 9. In addition to investments in future technology, Toro also announced continued investment in the future generations of golf course managers and support for GCSAA.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>For the 29th consecutive year, Toro served as the presenting sponsor of the GCSAA Golf Championship in Orlando, Florida, Feb. 4 \u2013 6. Continuing Support For First Tee
<\/strong>Since 1998, Toro has supported the nonprofit youth development organization First Tee through grants and equipment donations. Over 25 years, Toro has donated more than $1 million to First Tee and has committed to supporting the nonprofit through 2025. Toro\u2019s \u201cGrowing the Game Through Impact and Inclusion\u201d grants have helped First Tee chapters around the country reduce barriers, expand access to character-building programs and provide locations where kids from all backgrounds feel safe and welcome. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuing Support For Rounds 4 Research
<\/strong>Toro announced a $50,000 grant to the GCSAA Foundation for continued support of the Rounds 4 Research program, which addresses the critical shortage of turfgrass research funding by auctioning donated rounds of golf online. Since 2012, Toro has contributed $550,000 to Rounds 4 Research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melrose Programs Offer Unique Experience For GCSAA Members
<\/strong>Thanks to funding from the Kendrick B. Melrose Family Foundation, 12 GCSAA members had the opportunity to attend the 2023 GCSAA Conference and Trade Show. The members are participants in the Melrose Leadership Academy and Melrose Equipment Management Experience and were chosen through an application process based on financial need, involvement in communities through volunteer efforts and a drive to progress in their careers. Both programs were founded by the late Ken Melrose, former CEO and chairman of Toro, and longtime supporter of GCSAA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watson Fellowship Recipients Attend GCSAA Conference and Trade Show
<\/strong>Cathryn Chapman, Brandi Merrick and Stephanie Rossi are the recipients of the 2022 Dr. James Watson Fellowship and $5,000 scholarship. Named after the late James R. Watson, Ph.D., a pioneer and visionary in turfgrass research and vice president at Toro, the fellowship recognizes students in postgraduate degree programs who have been identified as scientists who will be leaders in turfgrass management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
