Toro is about to change the way fairways are mowed and the true cost of a machine is calculated. Set to launch in the spring of 2015, the new Reelmaster® 5010-H is Tier 4-compliant and delivers operational cost savings that can really boost your budget!

Top Line Thinking

The Reelmaster 5010-H is powered by Toro’s new patented PowerMatch™ technology, which precisely matches the power output to the power required for current mowing conditions. This design combines a 24.8-hp Kubota diesel engine with a 48-volt battery pack to deliver the power you need with no waste. In fact, the Reelmaster 5010-H is able to perform as well as or better than a higher-horsepower machine, including scalping and verticutting

Here’s how it works: On most fairways, the 24.8 hp engine has sufficient power to get the job done. When hilly terrain or more challenging mowing conditions demand more power than the 24.8 hp engine can provide, the Reelmaster 5010-H sheds the cutting unit load from the engine to the battery pack, allowing more horsepower to be allocated to the traction circuit. If even more power is required, the battery pack continues to power the cutting units while also boosting the engine, giving the machine the equivalent of over 40 hp.

The result is plenty of power — but only when you need it — saving on fuel and your budget. And that’s not the only advantage. Because the cutting units are powered electrically, the reel speed is precisely controlled for a consistent speed and uniform performance across all cutting units.

Bottom Line Thinking

Because no power is wasted, the Reelmaster 5010-H gives you excellent fuel efficiency. Those savings add up fast, especially with today’s rising fuel costs. You can expect an average fuel savings of 20 percent over comparably equipped machines, making the Reelmaster 5010-H easy on your budget. Furthermore, there’s no need to plug in the Reelmaster 5010-H. Its system is designed to recharge itself, giving you true hybrid efficiency without additional electrical costs.

Beyond fuel savings, the Reelmaster 5010-H also helps boost productivity with features like the InfoCenter™ LCD display, which provides system information, alerts, service reminders and diagnostics. Plus, the Auto Idle feature reduces the engine to low idle after being inactive for a set period of time for less noise and even more fuel savings.

In addition, the Reelmaster 5010-H can save on maintenance costs. Hydraulic leaks on fairway mowers may not be as big of a concern as they are on greensmowers — but if they do happen, it’s a significant and costly hassle. The Reelmaster 5010-H has roughly 100 fewer potential hydraulic leak points than a traditional hydraulic machine, which offers peace of mind. And since the reel motors are electric, the Reelmaster 5010-H eliminates the expense of changing hydraulic lines every few years as part of your regular maintenance schedule.

Real World Thinking

When you invest in hybrid technology, you need to know it’s going to be reliable. This design has undergone years of rigorous lab and field testing to ensure the performance you expect from Toro. The battery pack is made up of four sealed, maintenance-free Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries that are designed to handle many cycles and harsh environments. The Reelmaster 5010-H is built on the proven Reelmaster 5010 Series platform, which is among the most powerful, best-selling fairway mowers on the market. It also features Toro’s Dual Precision Adjustment (DPA) cutting units for an outstanding quality-of-cut.

In short, the Reelmaster 5010-H not only meets your power requirements — it reduces your fuel costs and lowers your maintenance inputs to keep your cost of ownership low.
